This is a grounded adapter plug type "I" for use in Italy. You can use it with grounded voltage converters, transformers and dual voltage appliances.

 Travelling with electronics can be tricky business when it comes to what adapters and converters to pack. If you'll be going abroad and your electrical appliances have 3 pins, they're "grounded", so be sure to take a grounded adapter plug. Grounded receptacles, or 3-pin outlets, are more common in Canada and the US than anywhere else in the world so you may not always be able to find a grounded receptacle.
