Staying short term in North America? This is a grounded adapter plug type "A" for use here. It can be used with grounded voltage converters, transformers and dual voltage appliances.
Features
Converts the shape of electrical plugs from Australia/New Zealand/China, Continental Europe (Schuko), Israel, Italy, India/Middle East (5 Amp), Switzerland and United Kingdom/Hong Kong to fit into North American electrical outlets
Compact and lightweight
If your grounded appliance is multivoltage (120/240 or 100-240 volts) you only need a grounded adapter plug.
If the appliance is 120 volts only you need a grounded transformer to convert the voltage and a grounded adapter plug to modify the outlet.
Please note: Adapter plugs do NOT convert electricity

Perchotte's Thoughts
Travelling with electronics can be tricky business when it comes to what adapters and converters to pack. If you'll be going abroad and your electrical appliances have 3 pins, they're "grounded", so be sure to take a grounded adapter plug. Grounded receptacles, or 3-pin outlets, are more common in Canada and the US than anywhere else in the world so you may not always be able to find a grounded receptacle.
